Nevada Board Confirms about 3rd Consecutive Monthly Wins in Casino Games

Nevada CasinosThe Nevada State Gaming Control Board has recently released a data that tells about the posted gains of Nevada casinos in gaming wins for the 3rd consecutive month.

According to the gaming regulator, there is an increase of 3.5 percent in the month of May this year as compared to the same period last year to reach a figure of $991.6 million. The data also tells that it is the highest monthly total since February this year.

Clark County that houses Las Vegas Strip has outperformed others with whopping revenue of $860.7 million. The Las Vegas Strip has accounted for revenue of $546.8 million alone; a rise in 3% while downtown Las Vegas was at $55.2 million. The 3 month average from March to May tells us about the better performance of the casinos with an improved growth of 4.1 percent.

After a steep fall at 4.5% in February this year, the gaming establishments in the state recorded a gaming win of 1.2% in April and 7.4% in March. In the month of May, the gaming win percentage for slot machines and table games were 7 percent and 13.7 percent respectively. Penny slots were the winner of the lot and were the major contributing segment with a gaming win of $282.7 million in May and an increase of 2.2% as compared to last year.

As far as the table games are concerned, baccarat was the leader with a gaming win of $100.9 million gained from 28 different locations. The game of Blackjack reported a gaming win of $110.8 million and it came from 147 casinos.

In the month of May, the win percentage for Baccarat was 13.1 percent and it is slightly lower than average recorded in the past 1 year.

Michael Lawton who is a senior analyst with game control board has made the following statement:

I think what we have been experiencing in baccarat can be compared to a very rough ride on a roller coaster. However, it appears that the ride might be smoothing out for us as we have now recorded increases in volumes three times this calendar year compared to last year when we recorded only one increase the entire year.

The state of Nevada has generated revenue of $689.1 million in terms of revenue for 2017 till date. There is a growth of 1.9% as compared to last year. There was a marginal jump in visitations for Las Vegas as a whole. According to Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, there was a 0.3% increase in visitor volume in the month of May to 3.6 million. The convention attendance saw a growth of 20.2 percent to 514,615.

There was a 1.1% increase in hotel occupancy to 89% whereas the average daily room rate was up 3.6% to $127.14 and there was a growth in revenue per available room by 4.9% to $113.28.
